“My work flows from the experience of gardening and is the main inspiration for my painting. For most of my life I have worked in flower gardens.

There is a language of flowers that keeps me engaged. I’m attracted to them as a singular, central subject but also more broadly too. Flower gardens especially in older suburban settings have a mesmerizing effect on me. They have a nostalgic quality and I try to convey that sensibility in my work.”
