JESSICA MASTERS

Jessica Master’s distils the joy of summer in this series of paintings. Her soft focus paintings sparkle with diffused light and the energy of the colours bring her subjects to life. Her iconic oil paintings are about her relationships to people and the landscapes of her summer. They are hazy sundrenched dreamscapes of figures diving and jumping into waves and cool lake water. Her work is about the cherished memories of summer, throwing ones self with abandon into a lake, diving or jumping into the water, while the sunlight dances on the waves. 

As an artist I get my inspiration from my own experiences; everyday things that demand a visual interpretation. However personal, I strive to articulate the images in a way that you, the viewer, can attach your own personal story. My hope is to touch on subjects and experiences that bring forth a memory or a feeling that will connect you with the image. With each subject I try to capture an atmosphere through the colour and light, in an attempt to push the image toward a deeper meaning about human nature.
