NOELLE LALONDE

At the core of my paintings is a recurring motif: large, blooming florals. These flowers are far more than decorative elements; they are personifications of my life story. The floral motif emerged naturally from my upbringing, where vibrant flower patterns were woven into every facet of my home environment from the fabric of the couch and tablecloths to the curtains and even the artwork on the walls. My mother’s love for floral design was so profound that she once invited an artist to hand-paint flowers on our television cabinet. Gardening and the ritual exchange of bouquets for holidays and special occasions were constant threads in my family’s traditions.
